DAWSON DAY

REGIONAL TEAM HEAD COACH

2 YEARS COACHING EXPERIENCE

HOME LIFE: Dawson grew up in North Logan, Utah and attended Sky View High School. She has lived in Cache Valley for most of her life. She is the third oldest of 4 children (two brothers and one sister). Her family also has 4 dogs named Coco, Oreo, Boomer, and Nyx. Dawson recently returned home from the Maryland Baltimore Mission spanish speaking. She currently works at Post High with special education students and loves it.

EDUCATION: After graduating from Sky View in 2018, Dawson continued her education at Salt Lake Community College where she received her associates degree in general education. She now is attending Utah State University in hopes of receiving a degree in Special Education and becoming a teacher. 

 

VOLLEYBALL CAREER: Dawson began her volleyball career in 6th grade. She played club for North Peak/Mountain Peak since the first year it started back in 2013 and has been apart of the program ever since. As a senior, Dawson was named The Herald Journal All-Valley Player of the Year. She made First Team All-State for volleyball and also received many academic awards. After high school, she was able to play collegiate volleyball at Salt Lake Community College before serving her LDS mission. While playing at SLCC she was named Player of the Week and learned many volleyball skills there. She now is playing on the club volleyball team at Utah State. 

 

COACHING CAREER: Dawson has been coaching volleyball and helping at camps for 2 years now. She has helped with many high school camps, SLCC camps, and Mountain Peak academy teams.

WHY I COACH: "I coach because volleyball is so much fun! I love the game, the atmosphere, and the ability to become better. This sport has taught me so many lessons in my life and brought me so many life-long friends. I am so passionate about this sport and want others to feel the love for the game as I do."
