Teams will be formed based on the high school your child will attend. Each team will practice twice per week until matches begin and once per week after that. 7th-8th Grade Draft Pick: Monday, August 17 from 7-8:30 PM
Players in the 5th-6th grade and 7th-8th grade will be invited to join our "A" Division after being observed by the Mtn Peak coaching staff. Typically, only 1-2 teams per school will be selected for the "A" division. All other players will participate in the "B" Division. Athletes only need to attend the draft pick if they would like to be considered for an "A" Division team. Athletes wanting to be considered for an "A" Division team must attend the draft night or contact Dixie if they are unable to make the scheduled time.
Frequently Asked Questions
What day will my child practice and compete?
Practice days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on the availability of each team. We usually have multiple teams per school, so if one day doesn't work for your athlete there will likely be another day available to be placed on one of the teams from your school area. You will be asked to list any practice day conflicts during registration. Competition days will be Fridays for our 5th-6th grade league and Saturdays for our 3rd-4th grade & 7th-8th grade leagues. All matches will take place at the PEAK Performance Center in Logan. The final tournament will take place on Saturday, October 11th or 12th depending on your division. Practice and game schedules will be finalized and posted shortly after registration closes.
How will teams be assigned?
Teams will be created based on the high school area that your child will be attending. We expect to have multiple teams per school, so there is no cap placed on the number of athletes allowed to play. School options include Sky View High School, Green Canyon High School, Logan High School, Ridgeline High School, Mtn Crest High School, Bear River High School, and Box Elder High School. For the "A" division of our 7th-8th grade and 5th-6th grade leagues, only one team will be selected per high school unless our coaches feel a second team would benefit the division. All other 7th-8th grade and 5th-6th grade athletes will participate in the "B" division.
Will there be a boy's team?
Our boy's club season will be starting in September, so we encourage any interested boy's to participate in the club program. However, any boys in 3rd-4th grade will be allowed to play in the Fall League.
How will I know who is on my child's team?
Our club uses LeagueApps, which is an app that helps make communicating with your team and coach simple and convenient. Team rosters and schedules will be posted on the app so you can quickly and easily communicate and find information each week of when your child's team plays. Results each week will be recorded on LeagueApps so you can know how the team performs each week.
Who are the coaches?
Your child will have a qualified Mountain Peak coach that will teach your athlete volleyball fundamentals using our keys, terms, and drills in a positive learning environment. Our coaches will also integrate PEAK training into practice and competition to help your athlete understand developing a growth mindset in addition to learning to play and compete.
How long is practice?
Practice will be once per week for 1.5 hours.
How long are games?
Each team will play 2 matches per week. Generally, matches will be approximately 45-60 minutes in length.
