Mountain Peak Boy's Team Coach
Four Years Coaching Experience
HOME LIFE: Jacob grew up in Delta, Utah. He was originally a swimmer and worked as a lifeguard through high school. He has two siblings, one brother and one sister. Jacob is the youngest of the three, also the tallest easily. His nickname growing up was "Pecos."
EDUCATION: Jacob graduated from Delta High School in 2009 and attended Bridgerland Applied Technology College from the summer of 2010 to the spring of 2012 in the CNC Machining Program.
VOLLEYBALL CAREER: Jacob started playing random pick up church ball shortly after moving to Logan. He enjoyed playing and just kept playing more and more wherever he could find a group. He fell in with a group of ex college players where they helped him fine tune his skills as a player. He loves playing and has loved the friendships he has made from this amazing sport. He plays whenever he gets the chance to, if that may be pick up, tournaments around and out of state, UOVA in the summer, and other local leagues.
COACHING CAREER: Jacob has been coaching mostly high school level volleyball for four years now. First, two years of coaching with Cache Valley Volleyball Club, then with North Peak Volleyball Club, then again at Cache Valley Volleyball Club. He also coached the JV team at Mountain Crest High School in 2016.
WHY I COACH: "I coach because I love volleyball more then anything else. I love getting to know these amazing boys and girls that I have had the opportunity to coach each year. Watching each of them grow as the season goes, coming in and not just working hard for themselves but seeing them build each other up is a reward in itself. Through volleyball I have met some of the greatest people I will ever I know and I wouldn't be the person I am today without them. All that I have been able to get out of this sport, and the love for it I want other to be able to experience that."
VOLLEYBALL IDOL: Ivan Zaytsev, Eric Shoji
