Mountain Crest Varsity Head Coach
10 Years Coaching Experience
HOME LIFE: Kindra grew up in Cache Valley and married her high school sweetheart, Alex, in 2009. They have one daughter (Haidyn) who is 5 years old.
EDUCATION: Kindra attended Mountain Crest High School and then received her Associates Degree from College of Eastern Utah. She then attended USU studying Social Work, but decided it was not what she wanted to do. She hopes to go back and get a degree in a different field in the future.
VOLLEYBALL CAREER: Kindra started playing volleyball in 6th grade for Mountain West. (Denae was actually her coach!) She then played for Mountain Crest in high school and varsity lettered 3 years. Her senior year she was named to the Herald Journal All-Valley team, All-State Honorable Mention, and was chosen to play in the Utah Senior All-Star Match. She then went to College of Eastern Utah to play for 2 years. She still loves to play and just can't get away from her love for the game!
COACHING CAREER: Kindra started coaching Kid's Camps while at Eastern Utah for the city rec department. She then knew that coaching was something that she loved and wanted to continue doing. After graduating from Eastern Utah, she moved back to Logan and got involved in coaching at Mountain Crest High School (Go Mustangs!!). She was the sophomore coach for 3 years and then the JV & Varsity Assistant coach for 5 years. She is now the head coach at Mountain Crest and is proud to be a Mustang. She started coaching club for Mountain West when she came back to Logan. She was with Mountain West for 8 seasons and has coached with Mountain Peak for 1 season.
WHY I COACH: "I coach because seeing athletes improve and gain confidence is simply amazing! There is no better feeling than when something finally 'clicks' with a player and you see them own that skill that they have worked so hard to achieve. I hope to be apart of shaping them into good people that will strive for greatness."
VOLLEYBALL IDOL: Wendy Osborne - She helped coach me my sophomore year in high school and I learned SO much from her. She helped me gain confidence and knowledge of the game, which contributed to my opportunity to get a scholarship to play in college. I also had the opportunity to coach with her for one season at Mountain Crest, and I again gained so much knowledge from her about the game and coaching. I feel honored to now call her a friend who I can talk volleyball with whenever!
