KINDRA ANDERSON

ELITE TEAM HEAD COACH | MTN CREST VARSITY HEAD COACH
10+ YEARS COACHING EXPERIENCE
PLAYED FOR COLLEGE OF EASTERN UTAH

HOME LIFE: Kindra grew up in Providence, UT. She is the youngest of 6 kids and gives credit to them for her competitiveness from always trying to keep up with them playing soccer to running around the neighborhood as kids and trying to beat them at whatever they were doing. She was given the nickname Kinni in 6th grade by a kid at school and it's stuck to this day with all of her players knowing her as Kinni (some girls are shocked when they find out her name is actually Kindra). She has been married to her high school sweetheart Alex for almost 12 years and they have an 8 year old daughter, Haidyn who has just started playing volleyball this year. They like to hang out at the family farm taking care of/feeding their cows, riding the golf cart and four wheelers, and getting work done on the tractor. She likes to spoil their goats and cows by bringing them treats, which makes her husband roll his eyes and laugh.

EDUCATION: Kindra graduated from Mountain Crest High School and continued onto College of Eastern Utah for her associates degree. She then transferred to USU for a while but changed her mind about her major and is hoping to go back to school to pursue something in business.

VOLLEYBALL CAREER: Kindra got the volleyball itch from playing pepper with other kids in the school hallway while our older sister's games were going on. She started playing club volleyball for Mountain West in 6th grade. That is when she really fell in love with the sport and was all into volleyball. She played varsity as a setter & right side for 3 years and earned All Region honors, All State honors, and was a Senior All Star her senior season. She played at College of Eastern Utah on a full scholarship for 2 years and then decided to not play on and pursue coaching.

COACHING CAREER: Kindra started coaching while at CEU running skills camps for the local rec center. She really enjoyed teaching the game and after moving back to Cache Valley she started coaching at Mountain Crest as an assistant coach. She has been at Mountain Crest for 13 seasons with the last 4 seasons as the head coach. For club ball she has coached for Mountain West, Orange Crush, and is excited about returning back to Mountain Peak this year.

WHY I COACH: "I love seeing kids succeed and achieve their goals. The look on a player's face when they accomplish something that they've been working on is priceless and I love celebrating their success with them.  I have been given so much from volleyball as a player & coach and I hope to give others what I have been given from being a part of a team and leading teams. Volleyball has been such a huge part of my life for over 20 years and has taught me how to push through when things are hard and how to fight hard for what I want to accomplish. My goal as a coach is for my players to learn how to work hard for their success, find confidence in themselves,  and to teach them life lessons that will help them beyond the volleyball court. I love the relationships that I have developed with players, coaches, & parents and I look forward to developing new relationships each year. I also coach volleyball because it is FUN!! Having fun with my players and seeing my team enjoy what they are accomplishing together makes all of the hours in the gym and the hard things that go along with coaching totally worth it!"

VOLLEYBALL IDOL: Wendy Osborne- She has taught me so much as a player and as a coach over the last 15 years and always reminds me to find the lessons to be learned from situations and how to look at the tough times as an opportunity to grow and become better as an individual and as a team.
