Skills Clinic Training
WITH ELITE MOUNTAIN PEAK COACHES
This club season, all athletes will have the opportunity to train with our Elite coaches at our Skills Clinics. These clinics take place on any Friday that the facility is not hosting a club tournament. We will have two separate time slots this season to help facilitate smaller group training (Elite & Premier). Each court will work on a separate skill group with different coaches so athletes can get more specialized training each week. Younger athletes are encouraged to rotate through different trainings to get coaching and feedback in each position. Registration will open once practices begin. These are included at NO COST for Elite & Premier athletes.
DIXIE LOVELESS & JODI COATS
Setters will train with Club Director Dixie Loveless and former Dixie State setter and Academy Director Jodi Coats. Trainings will focus on footwork, handwork, out-of-system training, jump setting, attacking, serving, and more.
DENAE PRUDEN & TANZA TUPOLA
Middles will train with former USU middle and Club Director Denae Pruden and former BYU-Hawaii middle Tanza Tupola. Trainings will focus on footwork, armwork, blocking movement, versatile hitting, slide attacks, serving and more.
MELISSA GUYMON & MADI FORSYTHE
Pin hitters will train with former USU-E outside Melissa Guymon and former SUU outside Madi Forsythe. Trainings will focus on footwork, armwork, blocking movement, out-of-system attacking, transitioning, serve receive, serving, defense, and more.
Liberos and defensive specialists will train with former USU DS Maddie Day-Larsen and current USU women's club team outside Cheyanne Strong. Trainings will focus on defensive posture, movement, and different tactics and strategies for defending. Additionally, trainings will focus on serve receive, float serving, and more.
**There will be times these Elite coaches will have club tournaments on certain Fridays and not able to attend the clinics. In that case, another Elite coach with that specialization will fill in for that court (as needed based on number of sign-ups each week).
