2023-2024 TEAM INFO

CLUB TEAM LEVEL INFORMATION:

+ MPV National  [November-April; Extended Season May-June]

Experienced and committed athletes. Top 1-2 teams in each age group. Sunday play is required. These teams will attend 1-4 National Qualifiers (separate fee) throughout the season in addition to their regular season tournaments (five 2-day tournaments are included with the regular season). National teams compete and train at the highest level. National Green teams will attend USAV Nationals (must qualify) and/or AAU Nationals. National Black teams may choose to attend Nationals. Teams attending Nationals will participate in the Extended Season (May-June). Power & Agility (12 weeks) and PEAK (12-18 weeks) are included for these teams, in addition to NT skills trainings. PowerCore 360 is also included as an additional optional training for these athletes.

+ MPV Elite  [November-April]

The majority of athletes will fit into this team level. There is no Sunday play for these teams and all tournaments are in-state. Teams will attend six weekend tournaments (mostly 1-day). There is a wide range of play at this level from intermediate-advanced and athletes are placed according to age and skill level. Club season ends in April for all Elite teams. Power & Agility and PEAK are included for these teams for 8-10 weeks.

+ MPV Regional  [December-March]

These athletes are beginner level and not quite ready for a full club season. Regional teams are "Pre-Club" and the last stepping stone before starting a full club season. Regional teams are location-based and will practice at Cedar Ridge Elementary (north end) or Spring Creek Middle School (south end). Practices will be broken into an hour of skills training sessions and 30 minutes of competitive game play. All tournaments will be in-state. Practice days and times and tournament dates are pre-set. Tryouts are encouraged but not required for Regional teams; you may sign up directly without attending tryouts if desired. Regional athletes will all train together (split up by age) and split into teams prior to each tournament (teams may change some from tournament to tournament depending on skill level progression throughout the season). All Regional teams will complete their season the end of March. There is no Power & Agility or PEAK training for Regional teams.

+ MPV Academy & Academy Teams  [October-May]

This program is for athletes who are unable to commit to Regional for an entire season but want to train their skills with the opportunity to play in some tournaments (Academy Teams). Practices will be broken into an hour of skills training sessions. Those participating in the current Academy Team session will also have 30 minutes of competitive game play following skills training. There is no Power & Agility or PEAK training for Academy or Academy teams.

Team invitations are sent within 24 hours of the final tryout. Athletes are expected to commit right away if they would like to reserve their spot on the team. Typically, commits must be completed within 8-10 hours after the invitation has been sent, so make sure to keep an eye on your email inbox. For our national teams, verbal commits may be required during the tryout process. Timely commits allow the club to make adjustments where needed as soon as possible and field competitive teams at every level.

After you commit, you will receive information on your team parent meeting at our 2023-2024 season Open House. At this meeting, you will go over club & team policies, discuss season scheduling, try on gear, get to know the team & parents, and ask any questions you have. Practice schedules will be created based on coach availability (taking the availability of each team member into account - we do our best, but cannot meet all schedule requests) and typically be released mid-November. Regional Teams will have set practice days/times that are posted above. Team tournament schedules are decided at the parent meeting. All team practices begin in late November. Any pre-season skills clinics are included at no extra cost for your athlete.

Each National/Elite team consists of 9 to 10 athletes and 2 coaches. It's important that our coaches teach and believe in our philosophy for a consistent approach to the game from year to year. If we feel it is in the best interest of both the player and the team, we will ask a player to play up an age group.
