EARLY BIRD REGISTRATION DEADLINE: AUGUST 1, 2023
REGULAR REGISTRATION DEADLINE: AUGUST 10, 2023
LATE REGISTRATION DEADLINE: SEPTEMBER 3, 2023 [LIMITED SPOTS]

Join us for our annual Fall Volleyball League! The league is open to students attending 1st-12th grade and will be split up into a 1st-2nd grade division, 3rd-4th grade division, 5th-6th grade division, and 7th-12th grade division. Teams for our 5th-6th & 7th-12th grade league will be formed based on the high school your child will attend and experience level. 5th-12th grade boys are encouraged to play on one of our boy's club teams which start in early August. Our 1st-2nd and 3rd-4th grade league are COED and will have a special format to encourage reps and increase quality of play.

PURPOSE OF FALL LEAGUE:

  • Develop as an all-around player in all positions/skills, both front-row and back-row

  • Receive quality instruction from our MP coaching staff

  • Gain a lot of reps/touches on the ball

  • Meet and play with future high school teammates

AGE GROUP INFORMATION:

5TH-6TH & 7TH-12TH GRADERS

Each team will practice once per week. Teams will play two matches per week; 5th-6th graders will compete on Friday late afternoon/evenings and 3rd-4th & 7th-12th graders will compete on Saturday mornings/afternoons.  Cedar Ridge will be a north-end practice option for our Sky View and Green Canyon area teams. Logan, Ridgeline, Mtn Crest, Box Elder, and Bear River area practices will take place at the Mtn Peak Volleyball training facility. You will have the option to enter any practice day conflicts at registration. Practice day options are Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday between 3:30-9 PM. Practices are 1.5 hours each PLUS 30 minutes of Power & Agility training from our experienced training staff (2 hours total). All participants will receive a t-shirt jersey representing their high school area. 5th-6th grade teams will run a 6-6 offensive system with both front-row and back-row training as we work to develop ALL-AROUND athletes during our Fall League program.

3RD-4TH GRADERS

As we have studied the best way to create an encouraging learning environment for our young athletes while maximizing reps and development, we run a unique and special format for this age group. Athletes will sign up for a weekly practice slot (if he/she would like to practice with a friend, just include that during registration) and practice with other girls and boys their age. For Saturday competition, we will use a U10 height net and U10 volleyballs with a modified court size. Athletes will play different games with a DOUBLES format to encourage maximum reps and development. They will rotate and play with several different partners each week. At the end of the season, we will have awards for athletes finishing with the most points and treats for all of our participants. Each athlete will receive a t-shirt jersey and will work with all of our 3rd-4th grade coaches that are trained to work with these younger athletes. Cedar Ridge will be a north-end practice option for our Sky View and Green Canyon area athletes. Logan, Ridgeline, and Mtn Crest area practices will take place at the Mtn Peak Volleyball training facility.

1ST-2ND GRADERS

We are excited to offer a league for athletes in 1st-2nd grade again this season. These boys & girls will practice once or twice each week for 1 hour each practice. The first 30 minutes will be instruction and the last 30 minutes will be small-group games. Athletes will learn solid fundamentals while also having opportunities to compete in small groups to reinforce learning and maximize reps in game settings. The season will end with a final tournament that will run the same format as our 3rd-4th grade league.

Frequently Asked Questions

What day will my child practice and compete?
5th-6th & 7th-12th grade practice days will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, or Thursday depending on the availability of each team. We usually have multiple teams per school, so if one day doesn't work for your athlete there will likely be another day available to be placed on one of the teams from your school area. You will be asked to list any practice day conflicts during registration. 1st-2nd & 3rd-4th graders will select a practice timeslot during registration that works best for their athlete.

Competition days will be Fridays for our 5th-6th grade league and Saturdays for our 3rd-4th grade & 7th-12th grade leagues. All matches will take place at the PEAK Performance Center in Logan. The final tournament will take place on September 29 or 30 depending on your division. Practice and game schedules will be finalized and posted shortly after registration closes. We get schedules out as quickly as possible, but please note that no teams will be finalized until AFTER the draft day so that we are able to assign athletes to a division first, then a team.

How will teams be assigned?

5th-6th and 7th-12th grade teams will be created based on the high school area that your child will be attending. We typically have multiple teams per school, so there is no cap placed on the number of athletes allowed to play. School options include Sky View High School, Green Canyon High School, Logan High School, Ridgeline High School, Mtn Crest High School, Bear River High School, and Box Elder High School.

1st-2nd and 3rd-4th graders will be practicing in a designated timeslot with a practice coach and "teammates." However, there will be no official "teams" for this group as we structure competition days to encourage maximum reps and development; the entire 3rd-4th grade division will be combined for competition days. The 1st-2nd grade division will remain with their practice group(s) throughout the season.

Will there be a boy's team?
Boys participate in our 1st-4th league as it is a coed league. Our
boy's club season will be starting in August; we encourage any interested 5th-12th grade boy's to participate in the club program.

How will I know who is on my child's team?
Our club uses LeagueApps, which is a program that helps make communicating with your team and coach simple and convenient. Team rosters and schedules will be posted on the app so you can quickly and easily communicate and find information each week of when your child's team plays. Results each week will be recorded on LeagueApps so you can know how the team performs each week.

For our 1st-4th grade League, you will be able to view your practice coach and practice schedule.

Who are the coaches?
Your child will have a qualified Mountain Peak coach that will teach your athlete correct volleyball fundamentals using our keys, terms, and drills in an encouraging learning environment. Our coaches will also integrate PEAK mental training into practice and competition to help your athlete understand how to develop a growth mindset in addition to learning to play and compete.

How long is practice?
Practice will be once per week for 1.5 hours (plus 30 minutes of Power & Agility for 5th-6th & 7th-12th grade divisions). Because we do not have weekend matches for the 1st-2nd grade league, athletes have the option to select two practices per week if they would like.

How long are games?
Each 5th-6th & 7th-9th grade team will play 2 matches per week with an officiating assignment as well. Generally, matches will be approximately 45-60 minutes in length. Typically, plan for a 3-3.5 hour timeframe on match days.

3rd-4th graders will rotate teams and play multiple games. Usually, all matches for our 3rd-4th grade division are completed in a 1.5-2 hour window.
