HOME LIFE: Melissa grew up in St. George, UT and moved up to Logan with her husband for school.
EDUCATION: Melissa is currently going into Physical Education at USU, and am minoring in Geography.
VOLLEYBALL CAREER: Melissa started playing volleyball for Pine View Middle Border League when she was in 7th grade. She grew to really love volleyball and continued to play at Pine View High School where she also participated on the high school basketball team. She also played for Southern Utah Volleyball Academy (SUVA) in St. George throughout high school. Her senior year she was picked as a Utah All-Star and a member of the All-Region Team in Region 9. That year she was recruited as an outside hitter to play for USU-Eastern in Price, UT. She absolutely loved playing at USU-Eastern, and received an All-Region award her sophomore year. Melissa planned on continuing her volleyball career at Fort Lewis College in Durango, CO with a full scholarship, but ended up marrying her incredible husband instead and they decided to finish their school at Utah State University.
COACHING CAREER: Melissa coached at Mountain West for one season and is beginning her second season coaching for Mountain Peak.
WHY I COACH: "My favorite thing about coaching is seeing improvement in athletes, and helping them reach their goals."
VOLLEYBALL IDOL: Logan Tom! She's a Utah native Outside Hitter, made the USA Women's Volleyball Team at the age of 19, and played in 4 Olympics.
